Our Story
Encouraged by friends and family for whom I have been designing jewelry, I took this leap and started this company. Coming from traditional bengali family where it was a norm to have family “sakra” or goldsmith, whom I visited frequently with my mom and grandmom, I was always fascinated with gold, silver and stones. The jewelry for my wedding was also designed by my mom and I love every piece even today.
After marrying into the Army, Our travels throughout the length and breadth of this country exposed us to various cultures, crafts, fashions and jewelry. Luckily my husband too has an eye for vintage pieces and handcrafted jewelry. Always drawn towards vintage collections, we were disheartened to see the slow dissappearance of the original sheen of silver ornaments. The kind that was seen in the silver ornaments worn by our mothers and grandmothers!
Therefore, determined to find this timeless elegance in an era of mass-manufactured, oxidized silver jewelry, sometimes lacking craftsmanship, we set out in search.
We traveled far and wide to small towns in M.P., Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim and Himalayan regions. It was in these small places that we came across artisans working in small shops under yellow bulbs taking days to painstakingly craft out designs.
We recognized this as a dying art.
Our Aim
Our aim, then on, became to encourage this small cottage industry.
We are in direct contact with the artisans where we interact with them in the designing process creating intricate elements and piecing them together for that final unique design! Our business model is that of profit sharing with the artisans so that they find the motivation to continue with this beautiful craft.
Hope you like our one-of-kind pieces as much as we like creating it for connoisseurs like you!
We don’t plan to compete with anyone, our aim is to sustain the vanishing artwork. Help small silversmith and to keep this artwork alive.
We procure pieces in bulk , get each piece checked for purity and then we bring them together and make our designs. We do manufacture our own designs and have workshop with our own silversmith who are on paid salary.
Our Promise
We will be frank about our purity, what stands as 80% purity will be mentioned and what stands as 92.5% purity will be stamped.
